#DenoJS executable for x86_64 Linux has meanwhile grown to 140 Mb? What's wrong with this world... πŸ€•
At least #BunJS is still under 100 Mb, but for how long...
#JavaScript #TypeScript

Has anyone tried dropping Deno 2.0 in as a replacement for Node on a full-fledged production project? How did it go? Did you see any performance gains? Any nasty surprises?

FFS... successfully upgraded my web crawler tris.fly.dev to Node with TypeScript, there is absolutely no visible change in the application apart from the v1.4.0 footer tag.

Docker build takes 90s more ie. 110s instead of 20s~, haha.

I am yet to reap the goodness of TypeScript. Why did I do this?!

I built the initial app without it so... maybe DHH is right all along.

My next endeavor is to transform it into a #DenoJS app. I guess this was the only reason to shift into #TypeScript.

πŸ€” Does anyone actually use deno.land in production? Even those who give public talks about it don't really use it in production, only for hobby projects. It's a bit sad 'cause, I like the technology, but I'm not convinced it's ready for larger projects.
