Developed 3 rolls of #KentmerePan200 tonight, using replenished #XTOL. My bathroom (where my darkroom/lab is) runs pretty hot - so I took 6:30 at 20C, reduced by 15% for rotation, and adjusted for temperature resulting in 4:15 @ 23.9C. Overall I'm pleased, I'll have to see how the negatives look when I can scan them, hopefully tomorrow.

Can’t wait to try this out. It’s overcast today and I still have to do some more research to try to get to a starting place with development times, but it’s exciting there’s a new film on the market. Depending on weather I probably won’t be able to shoot it until next weekend at the earliest.

Shot my first roll of #JCHStreetpan400 last week.

Box called for 1+1 XTOL dilution for 17 mins. I did Stock for 8:30 because I use XTOL replenisher. I thought it would be the same. It was not. 🤣

These two were taken midday, full sun. These were the only two frames on the roll that had enough density to see borders. Too dark for the scanner to remove dust via IR. Interesting looking mistake, though. I quite like these.

Playing around testing a roll of #CheapFilm from Shanghai. It doesn't look bad, but somehow the spool is wound loosely enough that it was hard to not get a fat roll in the film back yet also tight enough that the negative was so curly it was hard to get into the scan carrier. Also super thin. 5 rolls for $35. I'll save the other 4 for testing cameras or experimentation.

HP5/Rodinal is so crunchy. I love it. Grainy, yes. But crunchy. I like crunchy.

I guess I'll need to try printing a few of these to see if I like how the negative translates to the paper. I like the scans, so I hope I'll like the prints too.

Negs look dense enough I think? I pushed two stops because when I loaded this test roll yesterday and shot the first handful of frames it was super cloudy.

I will note it was nice having this do its thing for 10 mins and not have to worry about timing inversions, etc.

I probably shouldn’t test two things at once…but I’ve had this tank roller in my cabinet for a while and just haven’t gotten around to trying it.

Shot a test roll around the neighborhood with the new camera, so it seemed like a low-risk test. I did 15% less time than the MDC specified for inversion. Negatives look decent, I think?

Sometime I’ll have to split a roll between two tanks and compare results based on method.

Today is my last #FolderWeek post - what a wonderful week it’s been. I’m very process-oriented, so fiddling with a new camera and developing film brings me as much, if not more, joy as seeing the photos themselves.
