we NEED more votes. Please share with all your friends far and wide to promote our #choir for the #NationalDiversityAwards. Winning this would be a dream come true!!
What we are all about;
#SYSTEMIC very existence is built on the values of #inclusion,
Many of our members suffer with social anxiety and have experienced isolation and have often felt not valued in life in general. In SYSTEMIC it is different!
We make sure absolutely everyone who comes through the door feels special!
For instance, one of our members travels approximately an 80 mile round journey on the bus to sing at our weekly practice and had mentioned that in many years of trying to attend choirs, he was never offered a solo.
We believe everyone has a song inside of them, its just a case of finding the right song and arrangement. This member has his solo with us! leads the way with his rendition of Dirty Old Town and also brings joy to our audiences as they can see how much fun, and how proud we are all to be there together. Our choir is very different. We accept and welcome non singing members! As we often find that once a person feels included, they will find their voice and raise their confidence level enough to use it.
We have already begun this year's #PRIDE performances as we have shone at Teesside University Intersectional PRIDE event which followed on from our previous performances at the Uni and many other places.
We are built on the ethic of #TrueEqualityMatters which means, everyone attends with zero cost. #TheArcStocktonArts centre understands this and offers us the dance studio each week to practice in for free which gives the wider public an opportunity to witness and join us without any financial barriers or sense of hierarchy due to qualifying on low income. We shine in many places around our region and have recently won the Inclusion award 2025 with Catalyst Stockton who are the regions voluntary development organisation. In winning this award we were invited to plant our tree in a “trees not trophies” initiative which we did so PROUDLY. Our organisation has provided a safe an inclusive space where EVERYONE is welcome, valued, and appreciated. Changing the world, one song at a time.
