Thinking about #DoRevenge and how teens were excited about peaking in high school like NO do you realize how much more LIFE you have left to live to just have your best years at 16?! I know I haven’t even LIVED my best years yet and am so excited about being 50 and 60 and 80 even. It’s a blessing to live that much life! Our aversion to aging in society is absolutely bonkers!

I just watched Do Revenge and I really enjoyed it. How did I miss this one? Actually I know how. Based on the description it did not sound like it would be my cup of tea. High school drama has historically not been my thing. But lately the quality of this genre has really improved.

I realised the subject was not the problem. The way teen girls were portrayed for so long was really shallow and reductive. It didn't relate to my experience as an actual teen girl.

I don't entirely get why #DoRevenge did better with critics than #DarbyandtheDead. They both feel pretty similar to me tbh: teen comedies about two girls who form an unlikely friendship in which one gives the other a popular-girl makeover.

(I liked 'em both, FWIW.)

Por cierto, el día de ayer le di oportunidad a una peli para chicas. #DoRevenge se encuentra en #Netflix y la verdad está divertida. No es peli de Oscar para que no se vayan con esa idea, más bien es palomera y está centrada en drama adolescente. Decidí verla porque en ella sale #MayaHawke y me encanta cómo actúa.
