I’ve cut the #TotalWar series from my playlist. The more I looked at it the more it felt like an abstract #RTS dressed up as something deeper.
On the campaign map you are mostly building the same structures to generate resources or unlock units. Once that loop runs, you field armies and fight battles that look grand but quickly become repetitive often just something to fast forward through.
Later entries like 3K Troy or Pharaoh added systems like diplomacy tweaks multiple resources or environmental effects but they are still surface level.
Compared to real #GrandStrategy like #Vici3 #EU4 or #CK3, the series lacks the layers of politics economy or long term planning that make #strategy thrive.
Total War remains spectacle over substance and that is not what I am here for.
