That is how capitalism thrives. It relies upon “a clear-cut separation of the wild on the one hand and humans on the other, of nature and culture.” Market and consumerism is unmistakably involved in transforming the ‘wild’ into commodities. Can this be resolved with the oft heard conservationist’s and economists’ justification for “marketing the ‘wild’ as central to creating desire and longing for wild things, spaces, and experiences”?
