I found an #electricfence kit on sale today, $60 USD. I had it set up in about two hours.
It's not meant to keep the #chickens I'll soon have in, they get to free range. Rather, it's one of several lines of defense against night predators trying to get close to the hen house.
So today my friend was looking to buy some electric fencing on another site. He said he didn't care if it was working or not as his wife's horses wouldn't know.
At that point someone said they'll test it. Apparently, they edge up to the fence inch by inch and if they whiskers stand on end they know it's energised and if they don't they know it isn't.
I have no idea if this is true but I so want it to be, because it kind of blew my mind. #Horses #ElectricFence #AnimalsOnSteroids
