Hey Elixir friends! :) Elixir Gets JavaScript Interop - Hologram v0.8.0 is out! Use npm packages, call JS functions, work with Web APIs and Web Components - all from Elixir, with zero client-side latency. hologram.page/blog/hologra... #Hologram #Elixir #ElixirLang #BEAM #WebDev

I’m available #ForHire starting today.
Mainly a #ruby / #rails / #elixir developer with more than 15 years of experience.
I design databases, APIs, interfaces, and I know a bit about server admin, and deployment.

I am also very comfortable with mobile app development with #flutter.

I’ve developed edtech platforms, payment processor services, and VOD systems.

Self-driven and independent who can handle it all (backend/frontend/mobile/testing/deployments,etc).

Boosts appreciated.

I attended (and spoke at) Oredev. While there I tried to find connections to Elixir. It was hard.

Two great teachers join up to deliver the best intro to Elixir. Best crossover ever.

Bruce "The Bob Ross of Elixir" Tate and Benjamin "lostkobrakai" Milde brings us a workshop session for getting the newbies ready for the other workshops and for the conference.

If you are in Malaga for ElixirConf EU we hope you arrive one day early. We'll be doing the Elixir Unconference satellite event and our traditional Nerves hack session on the day before. Registration is shared so come to both/either. Read my thoughts on the blog, make a small donation to the EEF and come have fun!

Perl Weekly Challenge 364's tasks are "Decrypt String" and "Goal Parser". Because task 2's second example is decidedly a tribute to Andrés Cantor, that meant I needed to think "soccer" when I was thinking about the music this week... #PerlWeeklyChallenge #raku #perl #python #elixir

I believe our next confirmed speaker said "whatever you need". More to come on what the talk will be but we already know there will be Nerves community workshops and Frank will be in 'em.

We have discovered and fixed an issue in NervesHub. All people running it should update. Read the CVE and security advisory to understand your exposure.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

The update v2.4.0 also contains a bunch of other good stuff.

Our first confirmed speaker is a fantastic get. Bryan Hunter, known for his work with Elixir in massive health care systems just happened to be in our neck of the woods and said yes!

We don't know what to expect for the topic yet which is almost more exciting.

One awesome thing during Goatmire were the name badges. Designed and implemented by Gus Workman and funded by Tigris. I did a little write-up on that:

Today I've released my first Elixir library called TelegramEx – library for building Telegram bots with macro-based API. Will be glad to get feedback from community: github.com/lsdrfrx/telegram_ex

It allows to build bots with ease of implementing a GenServer. See more in repo!

Did I ever share this talk when it came out? I don't recall. "Keeping Secrets in your Opponent's Hands" is about embedded hardware security. Also I think the slides turned out pretty baller

@janschiefer So far I saw best results with #phoenix.new and #elixir

Experimented on same exact project with #llms first in #elixir (that I can read and vaguely code) and then #rust (that I understand decently well).

The rust one ended up so much better it's insane. I'm not sure if that's gpt-5.4 just not knowing much of elixir, or rust being more anal around compiling, but I think the defenitive bit is my understanding the slop patterns immediately and telling the llm to refactor things before it gets too bad.

Which is a funny problem. With people vibecoding more and more, who'd be this guardrail from letting the llms slide into slop? llms are chaotic by nature so the longer codebase is llmed without review the worse it gets.

Perl Weekly Challenge 363's tasks are "String Lie Detector" and "Subnet Sheriff". I challenge anyone to not think of I Shot The Sheriff given those tasks. #PerlWeeklyChallenge #raku #perl #python #elixir
