So, it's been like 7 yeas since I was deep into #EndlessSpace2, but that game was great. And while the first #EndlessLegend felt too fiddly for me, it still was a very creative fantasy 4X with a great variety of unit options. #AmplitudeStudios has a ton of experience making 4X games, and I'm hopefully they knock it out of the park with #EndlessLegend2.

The dwarven scouting party has finally tracked down the thief they've been chasing through the weird, distant world of Auriga. Turns out it's the old world's last surviving elf (sort of), a deadly archer.
In the deep forest far from civilisation a lone elven archer could eliminate our heroes with guerrilla tactics. So the dwarves do what they do best, and quickly dig a trench fort, forcing the situation to a standoff.
I love it.

So far first impressions are good. Endless Legend is similar to playing Endless Space in that I can follow what I know to figure it out.
I like the battles, I like having more control over units.
The UI is great, has a lot of detailed information.
Good unit customization and upgrades, but since I am starting out the system is very basic, need to research more upgrades.
All in all, its great so far, lots more to figure out. Expect more updates.
