Holy shit I can’t believe I put off trying my prosthetic on for 28 hours after being cleared to attempt

(I mean, I really can, I have anxiety and a lot of FEELS about leggi. It was a lot longer since I got it back too)

but it’s a PERFECT fit ! *and* they refurbed it so well with all new hardware and padding it’s BEAUTIFUL.

POV, looking down at legs in black leggings. Left leg wears a wrap around prosthetic that is newly refurbed and reshaped that fastens under the knee, carries movement down the back of the calf on long posts and into supports that frame the ankle and continue into running shoes. It’s carbon fiber exterior with mechanisms for fastening and soft foam inside

Celebrated #DisabilityPrideMonth by sending my wrap-around hybrid prosthetic in to be resized due to atrophy.

Being without it was a brutal week (although I’m thankful for my partner being so low fuss!) and I’m very glad to be reunited.

The last two days I’ve gotten back in the practice of walk training. Monday I managed 1.6 mi/2.5km before debilitating pain, yesterday almost 3 mi/4.82 km! The skills are still in there, I can do it!

It’s almost #ExoSym time and I’m super nervous (but excited and cautiously optimistic). Starting training on my new mobility aid tomorrow and I have a lot of bad habits to unlearn and strength to build.

May I please have some gentle encouragement if anyone on here has emoji or kindness to spare?
