Last year at #FOSSY Bradley said that it tentatively was going to be July 24th-27th this year, and so I am devastated to realize that the actual final dates for #FOSSY2025 (which I guess they announced in October but I missed it) are July 31st-Aug 3rd, and once again conflict with #GenCon :(

The Call for Proposals for @conservancy's #FOSSY Conference, held at Portland State University from Jul 31 to Aug 3, 2025, is open thru May 5.
The conference has a "FOSS for Education" track covering #OpenSource software and broader open initiatives, such as #OER, #OpenScience, etc.
Even if you can't make it, please share. The organizers are working hard to grow the event and provide a forum for open developers to meet peers and collaborate.

Submitted for a track at #FOSSY2025 'Supporting user groups in the community'. Hoping we get approved to run this - it's so fantastic to have an #opensource event here in Portland. #fossy
After much hesitation, I decided to go to #FOSSY2024 and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of voluntary compliance... though I suspect that is unfortunately quite rare. The leadership at #FOSSY also committed to masking up, which I think was significant.
It was also a local conference for me, so a bike commute; I would be a bit more nervous spending long hours on planes or trains or busses.

You should too give a bit if you can. They do a lot with modest budget.
(And #FOSSY is one of my favourite conferences)
