I had a great 3 days as a #FediforumAttendee - thanks to everyone who also took part. I missed the unconference sessions yesterday (only saw the speed demos), but just flipped through some of the notes. Now playing some more with @badgefed and thinking about stickers...

I advocate for the #fediverse in order to grow new spaces for free speech, conviviality, and organizing. I understand the need for exclusive spaces, but do not agree with bullying participants out of the #FediForum for opinions protected by the USA's 1st Amendment. One of the strengths of federated social media is the ability to create private or protected spaces. I live in spaces that are more inclusive, not less, and look forward to more wonder-filled FediForums.

100-ish participants and dozens of topics mean my brain is revving but I am NOT going to keep in line who said what and is attached to which project/topic/innovation/idea/URL/bookmark that struck me, hour by hour, as the coolest thing ever.
And my handwriting is terrible so even something I diligently noted down might have me reading "Stella" as "Dave" and wondering what the heck your handle is! #fediforumattendee

I loved being a #FediForumAttendee this spring. Thanks @fediforum for convening this wonderful group. I believe in this community, and I hope I can contribute more to the decentralized #SocialWeb in the future, so we can establish humanity's future enshittification-resistant digital nervous system.
#FediForum has just ended. It was quite different from previous years. The addition of keynote speakers was exciting, and I think garnered a bigger crowd.
The un-conference portions take some getting used to for newbies but all were welcome into the discussion, regardless of expertise in the topic.
After attending 3 or 4 other FediForums I finally gathered up enough courage to turn my microphone on for a few minutes make some kind of sounds out of my mouth. 😅
Scrolling the #FediForum chat on Surf using the beta code I got for being a #FediForumAttendee is so cool!
Also testing posting direct from Surf (which only seems to want to tag their Threads account)

Just spent the last 3 mornings attending #FediForum, an unoference to help the Open Social Web move forward.
With 3 inspiring keynotes and 8 attendee-led sessions, this was the largest event so far. I'm glad I let @j12t talk me into co-organizing.
I'm going to go outside and touch grass for the afternoon while I think about the ideas and joy that came forth in the sessions.
Just wrapped up my second #FediForum and feeling energized!

Had a really great Day 3 of @FediForum. I was able to attend some great sessions, including identity in the fediverse and data & account portability. I was able to talk about Hubzilla, Streams, Forte, and Mitra which have implemented various technologies, such as nomadic identity (which includes account & data portability). I was even able to do a quick overview and demo in a session.
And there is a lot of work being done in ActivityPub and various platforms to try to make these concepts the norm rather than the exception. There are a lot of opportunities for collaboration and interoperability. I am excited to see the fediverse move in this direction.
