I would expect this because #TheCrueltyIsThePoint aligns with #FirstPrinciples of a nihilistic death cult.
It’s not even cognitively dissonant, it’s just wickedly optimized.

“He gets his #FirstPrinciples wrong, so we have to return to ours.
“Most important, human equality precedes human differences.
“We can identify differences among us only because we are all human, and in that regard equal.
“As humans we share a capacity for moral judgment and an innate striving to choose actions that make tomorrow better.
“This is how our drive and capacity for freedom show themselves.”

General Robert Neyland’s “Seven Maxims” are #FirstPrinciples recited by #TennesseeVols football teams before every game.
They emphasize #discipline, #resilience, and seizing #opportunities:

The Putin administration’s approach to the Second Chechen War demonstrated a willingness to subordinate legal #FirstPrinciples to #NationalSecurity concerns.
This approach “substantially retarded the growth of a #RuleOfLaw state” as “a certain callousness toward law spread north from the Caucasus”.

This is the part where having and adhering to #FirstPrinciples matters.

I posted to #LinkedIn, the hashtags of #FirstPrinciples and #CoreValues, and the video of Chris Murphy speaking about a U.S. permanent resident being “disappeared”, with text saying:
“The U.S. #Constitution protects the right to free speech.
“It is enshrined in the #FirstAmendment of the Bill of Rights.
“It even protects speech you don’t like.
“Especially speech you don’t like.”
Based on the post analytics after 9 hours, it appears shadow-banned.
C’mon fam
This is an oblique way of saying “we can’t be anti-fascist”, without actually articulating the #FirstPrinciples and #CoreValues they do stand for, such as #republicanism.
Weak sauce.
If the Creepy Weirdos are going to invoke original #American patriotism, let’s shove Thomas Paine’s narrative down their throats and let them choke on it: https://inaniludibrio.com/2025/02/10/it-doesnt-paine-me-to-say/
The entire ethos of our nation is oriented around #FirstPrinciples of #republicanism which are skeptical of God-Kings, so their construct of corporate monarchy can die a quick death: https://inaniludibrio.com/2024/08/13/skeptical-of-god-kings/

The founding #FirstPrinciples are noble and rooted in #virtue, which was the only thing sons of the #American #Enlightenment valued in the late 1700’s.
Reputation is a function of promise and delivery.
The delivery has fell short since inception.
But the promise?
Huge upside.
The U.S. is a republic modeled after #FirstPrinciples of #republicanism from Ancient Greece and Rome.
Direct democracy is mob rule.

My personal ethos and one my #FirstPrinciples
At some point, we have to be real with ourselves and acknowledge that you can only #PointAndLaugh at people, calling them hypocrites, IF they have actual #FirstPrinciples.
Unprincipled people don’t have ethics or morals.
They are shameless, spineless, and unhinged.
It’s a whole ethos 🤷🏻♂️ (pun intended)
Which is why the #FirstPrinciples of #community, #joy, and #resilience are so important to adopt ahead of then.
They are aggressively denying all of the above, because cognitive dissonance, pretending to adhere to #FirstPrinciples, and evading responsibility is exhausting.
Nobody wants to admit being the mark of a psy-op.
This is a really basic #SoftwareDevelopment question, but I'm still learning #FirstPrinciples... If you put an IF statement / test in a function (with set outcomes), and then call the function to make the if statement and do or not do a thing, does that have a cost in terms of execution speed / resource use by the program, Vs. having the IF statement in the main body of your code, and then not calling a function if the answer is false?
