At some point, we have to be real with ourselves and acknowledge that you can only #PointAndLaugh at people, calling them hypocrites, IF they have actual #FirstPrinciples.

If you put an IF statement / test in a function (with set outcomes), and then call the function to make the if statement and do or not do a thing, does that have a cost in terms of execution speed / resource use by the program, Vs. having the IF statement in the main body of your code, and then not calling a function if the answer is false?
