I've not been to the gym since last year... 😔 Not because I don't want to... But because the weather is just too bad for me to make the drive in. I have some simple cardio equipment at home, which I now use. It's not the same as the gym. But... It does mean that I don't have to risk my life/car to cross bad roads to visit the gym. Still, the sooner the snow and ice sod off, the better. But... I've had three weather warnings in the last hour that snow is coming, and the roads will be a disaster... 😔

But, at the gym, I usually used the recumbent bike and the treadmill. Sometimes the cross-trainer, if my body allowed. And then the strength machines, if they weren't too busy, and I could motivate myself to use them.

Here, since the night of Jan 1 to 2, I've been using the bike, the rower, and the treadmill. So, the rower is an extra thing I do here now. 😊 It's still a bit challenging, with my leg and the edema. But I am taking it easy, slowly trying to build up my stamina again. During one of the lock downs, I managed to get an hour rowing every day (I didn't have the bike or treadmill then). I never managed it in one go... I think the longest I did was about 15/20 minutes. So, maybe, I can slowly get myself to 10 minutes again now... I have done about 7 minutes a few times (200 strokes), and 5 minutes (150 strokes). But now, I'll be trying to row more on level 2 instead of 1.

I can't wait to visit the gym again... To get my routine back. But, in the mean time, I do try to get some exercises in at home. I'm very fortunate to be able to do that... 😊

#FitIn2025 – December edition

The last month of a year that was anything but easy. Many hard, difficult, and traumatizing events have happened, and I am glad to end this year. Unfortunately, I can't really end it with some great results. Even though I feel that it could have been worse, as I had the worst of "luck" when it came to my health. And with losing Arwen, the grief made it harder as well to properly control my eating disorder. The last month, I have been trying to finally really make an effort to exercise a bit more. Of course, watching your food can be rather challenging when there are some festive days, where things seem to resolve a lot about good and delicious food and treats. This post will mostly feature some screenshots from my scale's reports and Samsung Health. I don't feel like there is much else I can share, as I haven't made any (positive) differences, and I only just started to push myself a bit more to starting to make more improvements in my exercises. Well, it's still cold, there's still some snow falling, and I'm making tasty and easy food now, which means it's not the healthiest (but it's what I have, and somehow my mind is really eager to have it...).

I've gotten another simple bike ride done. And... After food, I'll make sure to hit the treadmill for another half hour walk...

And... I know I need to make another change: slowly get back to eating a bit healthier again... But, that also means more prep time, and more effort, and sometimes also more costs... I know I can do better, food wise, even though it's very hard, due to my sensory issues in my mouth.

More info from the web:
Sensory food aversion / sensory-based food avoidance:
It refers to difficulty eating certain foods because of:
- Smell (too strong, overwhelming, nauseating)
- Texture (slimy, grainy, mushy, squeaky, etc.)
- Mouthfeel (how it feels when chewing or swallowing)
- Sound (crunching, squelching)
- Temperature
For autistic people, these sensory inputs can be genuinely overwhelming or distressing, not just a “dislike.”

But yeah... I know my hip area isn't fully pain and issue free yet. And I am still struggling with CPTSD symptoms. But... I want to work on all of that! I am making plans. Trying to make small changes, bit by bit. I made an appointment with a psychologist... I am trying to get there, but I also know I need to allow myself the time I need to adjust. I've done it before, and I know I can do it again. 💪🏻

Thanks for all your support 💜 so far! And thanks in advance for your support throughout this new year. :blobcatflower:

Onward and upward! :wecan:

#GoodMorning and #TZAG everyone :wecan:

It's been a weird night. Well, different, as I didn't follow my usual routine.

Yesterday, many weather warnings had been sent out already, informing of bad weather coming. They are predicting some snow here, there, and maybe everywhere. But, due to the weather shifts, it is not 100% properly predictable. But, they were sure that, with snow, rain, wind, and lower temperatures... Roads could get slippery, dangerous even, so if you don't have to drive, best to avoid it.

It has been snowing this night, although it's only just now starting to get a bit less wet, more thick, and some is staying on the ground now, instead of melting...

So tonight, instead of getting to Skoosh and driving to the gym, I managed to get myself to the bike, rower, and treadmill at my place. Yeah, I even managed to row for a little over 5 minutes, managing 150 strokes! I know I will have to get some more exercises in later today, I made a deal with myself to start working a bit harder on my physical (and mental) recovery this year, and I always give myself some slack on Jan 1st, due to the lesser sleep and busier days then. But now, I need to try...

Unfortunately, there is a lot of snow predicted the next week... Well, a lot for us here, as we don't usually get that much snow, nor do we get real snow that often. Maybe it will all be less bad than they warned us for. But, a few days ago, I barely managed to walk properly as our roads here were so slippery, so I don't want to take any unnecessary risks. I miss hitting the gym, but I prefer to keep Skoosh (and myself) in one piece...

In two weeks, I will have Bas with me, as mum will be getting her surgery. I know I can't hit the gym then, as Bas will bark way too much and way too long, and I don't want to have that happening, especially not during the night. So, I will need to add extra walks with the little barker, and then use my three machines to get some extra bits done...

But, yeah, I managed 30 minutes on the bike, 5 on the rower, and 30 on the treadmill. And maybe, in a bit, I may walk some more on the treadmill... But first, I want to relax a bit more with my Kobo... 😊

Here's to a very good and fit 2026! Thanks to all who have supported me so far, and thanks to all who will continue to do so this new year!

Fourteen-day weather forecast for Herpen, the Netherlands, shown in the Weer & Radar Android app, dated Friday 2 January 2026. A line graph displays daily maximum temperatures in red and minimum temperatures in blue. The forecast starts cold, with daytime highs around 2 °C on Friday, dropping to about 1–2 °C over the weekend, while nighttime temperatures hover around 0 °C to −1 °C. Early next week, temperatures dip further: daytime highs fall to around 0 °C to −4 °C, with very cold nights between −5 °C and −10 °C, the coldest point occurring midweek. Snow symbols appear on several of these colder days, indicating a chance of snowfall during the period of sub-zero temperatures. Toward the end of the forecast, temperatures gradually rise again, with daytime highs increasing to 5–7 °C and nighttime lows climbing back to around 0–4 °C. A small rain icon appears near the end of the period, suggesting light precipitation instead of snow. The graph includes a legend for maximum and minimum temperatures and a bar indicating sunshine levels from “veel” (a lot) to “weinig” (little).A cute, pastel-colored cartoon sheep stands proudly in the center, lifting a shiny barbell that’s almost as wide as she is. Her fluffy white wool looks like soft clouds, with a yellow flower tucked near one ear for extra charm. She has big, sparkling eyes and a sweet, confident smile—clearly taking her workout very seriously. The dreamy background blends purple, pink, and teal tones, filled with twinkling stars and glittery sparkles. Across the lower part of the image, bold blue text reads “#FitIn2026,” turning this adorable weightlifting session into a motivational (and delightfully woolly) fitness moment.

#GoodMorning and #TZAG everyone 💪🏻

As 2025 is coming to an end... I'm trying to "prepare" myself for 2026. This year has been challenging in many ways...

Physically, due to the surgeries and hip dislocation. Mentally, due to the trauma of that dislocation, and losing my furry soulmate onky a few days later.

I've not managed to lose any weight. But... With all that happened, I am glad, in a way, that I managed to keep the weight below the 85... I've been a jo-jo, ging between 79 and 84 for this whole year. With an eating disorder, and all the stuff happening, I feel like I've done well enough.

The last few weeks, I've been trying to push myself to becoming more active again. My PT is trying to help me with extra massages to support my muscles. Hopefully, I will manage to get more fit again, lose some weight while I'm at it, and be ready for a jumpy little new friend... 🐾

Thank you to all that have been supporting me! There were a few people here that always had my back, and that has really helped me a lot! :flying_hearts:

I tried to make a new image for my #FitIn2026 journey. I know I made it with AI, and some folks won't like that. I did edit it myself to make it as it is now... I'll use it for my monthly blog posts, and I guess for the occasional Toot here.

Have a good last 3-4 days of 2025. And next year, we'll try to get/stay fit together some more!
