Today the Food not Bombs crew I do community mutual aid with met at my house because our normal meeting place for our mealshare prep was unavailable. We made 32 bagged meals, and after driving to the local hot spot, we handed them all out in like 10 minutes. We are going to have to increase our bagged meal prep count to at least 50 meals. We also got requests from people in need for sleeping bags, tents, hygiene products, dog food, and more.

on july 10th, "greensboro" food not bombs had their 8 fridges, freezers, tables, cleaning supplies, & food destroyed by the city with no warning.

today they had a distro to show "the city's actions will not stop us from keeping each other fed." :blacker_heart:

"greensboro" FNB calls for donations to be made to "greensboro" mutual aid so they can ensure their neighbors get fed. additionally, more volunteers for their food not bombs chapter are needed to help with distro, cleaning, & cooking.

This included 8 fridges, freezers, tables, cleaning supplies, and of course food. We received no warnings and no communication."

it has two screenshots from posts on facebook. one is from the city of "greensboro" with text reading: " "it takes a village." it truly does... and concerned citizens took that to heart and helped us --- public health and safety issue recently. they brought to our attent..." (a post detailing how the city felt this was the right thing to do essentially.) the second screenshot is of the comment section which is entirely siding with food not bombs. the comments read:

"@city of greensboro really showing your rear here aintcha?"

"anyone else think this was going to be "so we had them all repaired" not "so we seized them all"?"

"so...did they get a new refrigerator?"

"you're not the good guys here. hope that helps!"

"the fridges went bad so we shut down the whole operation"

"they told the city and we took action immediately removing the units and avoiding a major health risk... y'all maybe wanna talk about how folks with nothing to eat might be experiencing "a major health risk"?"

below these two photos is black text that reads: "the city of Greensboro made social media posts, doubling down that they were doing the right thing by shutting down a Free Pantry."

W ostatnim dniu maja, podczas ciszy wyborczej, gdy większość Polaków drapała sie po głowie, przy grylu i piwie, nad wyborem nowego prezydenta RP, lawirujác gęstymi myślami między umaczanym w mafijnych strukturach kibolu lub "mniejszym złu" (pijącym piwko z faszyzującą prawicą i kapitalistyczną deweloperką) - nasz anarchistyczny kolektyw nakarmił ponad pięćdziesiąt osób, które w życiu codziennym nie mają za wiele (poza rentą, emeryturą, skromną zapomogą) lub nie mają niczego, nawet dachu nad głową.

A dzieje się tak, gdyż od lat trzymamy się ideii "Pomocy Wzajemnej" (Mutual Aid) zaproponowanej z końcem XIX wieku przez P. Kropotkina, który zauważył, iż „wśród różnych gatunków trwa ogromna ilość walk i eksterminacji; jednocześnie jest tyle samo, a może nawet więcej, wzajemnego wsparcia, wzajemnej pomocy i wzajemnej obrony… A towarzyskość jest w takim samym stopniu prawem natury, jak walka”.

Kropotkinowska wizja współpracy i pomocy wzajemnej to wystarczający argument przeciwko teoriom darwinizmu społecznego, które podkreślają konkurencję i przetrwanie najsilniejszych. Zamiast tego Kropotkin argumentuje, że mutual aid ma pragmatyczne zalety dla przetrwania społeczności ludzkich i zwierzęcych(..)

Dlatego większość z nas, zamiast oddawać swój czas, a przede wszystkim własny los w ręce cwanych polityków - zwyczajnie działa; szczególnie tam, gdzie dominuje niedożywienie i bieda

Started the morning off donating some groceries to the free shop near the train station. Mum and i buy a few things on special with the grocery shop and i drop it in once a month-ish. #FoodNotBombs #AwabaPark #NewcastleNSW

Food cupboard with two shelves; the top one has pantry items like cup noodles, fruit cups, peanut butter and jatz crackers); the bottom shelf is empty. There's writing in black sharpie on the top of the cupboard "[Give] what you can ~ take what you N[eed]."

The food and supply cupboards set up near the wall of the little park. Volunteers brought in some wood chips to help stabilise footing around the cupboards after the deluge of rain we've had.

Today in Labor History May 24, 1980: Hundreds were arrested in the occupation of Seabrook, New Hampshire, nuclear power plant construction site. The Clamshell Alliance was the main organizer. Founding members of the Clamshell Alliance include presidential candidate and left-green activist, Howie Hawkins, as well as journalist and anti-nukes activist Harvey Wasserman. Keith McHenry, cofounder of Food Not Bombs, also cut his activist teeth with the Clamshells.

Food insecurity on the rise in Columbus - Jen Bryant

Z wrocławskim Nadodrzem związani jesteśmy od lat. Praktycznie okolice tamtejszego dworca są drugą lokacją "wydawek" w historii naszych protestów w tym mieście. Pierwszym długofalowym punktem do rozdawania posiłków (od 1998 roku) była jedna z ławek w pasie zieleni pod Operą. Ale okolice Parku Staszica stały się szybko tym drugim miejscem, do którego wróciliśmy kilka lat temu spod Centrum Historii Zajezdnia, bo i tam pchnął nas los.. Wróciliśmy "na stare śmieci" z własnego wyboru.

Natomiast w minioną sobotę, dzień przed wyborami na prezydenta tego kraju nakarmiliśmy już poraz dwudziesty w tym roku kilkadziesiąt osób niedożywionych, żyjących w ubóstwie. I nie przestaniemy tego robić, bo od zmiany ustroju w 1989 roku, już 2,5 mln Polaków żyje w skrajnym ubóstwie, a ponad 17 mln poniżej minimum socjalnego, co daje najgorszy wynik od 2015 r. Dotkliwie również wzrósł poziom biedy wśród dzieci, seniorów i osób niepełnosprawnych. A co na to rząd?

Jak pokazują najnowsze sondaże "wesoło nie jest", bo kandydat na polityczną głowę państwa - Nawrocki, o przeszłości sutenera i przyjaciela trójmiejskiego półświatka; który wyłudził jakiś czas temu od człowieka w kryzysie kawalerkę w zamian za opiekę, której nigdy mu nie okazał, ma szanse wygrać z Trzaskowskim, politykiem, dzięki któremu 40 rodzin zostało wysiedlonych z zabytkowej kamienicy pod adresem ul. Marszałkowska 66 w Warszawie. Oficjalnie odbyło się to pod pretekstem przeprowadzenia remontu, do którego jednak nigdy nie doszło. Zamiast tego budynek został wystawiony na sprzedaż na mocy zarządzenia, wystawionego przez Rafała T, jako prezydenta stolicy.

A zatem ci co muszą, niech głosują rozważnie i "mądrze": nie głosujcie na prawicę, nacjonalistów, homofobów, mizoginów, proputinowskich oszołomów, sutenerów i kapitalistycznych cwaniaków jedzących z ręki pato-deweloperów.

PS: Na zdjęciu po lewej kadr z wydawki w Parku Staszica ponad 15 lat temu, po prawej kadr z teraz, z Placu Powstańców Wielkopolskich, bo... raz okazana Pomoc Wzajemna nie umiera, tylko się przemieszcza!
