A year before I switched from Reddit to Lemmy, there was a user who shared his knowledge about perfumes in a private subreddit, and here is what I remember/learned.
Part 1
How to try perfumes:
1. They give you a sample when you buy a perfume.
2. Buy a discovery box.
3. Go to a shop and try some.
Tips:
Don't only try a fragrance on paper, because every fragrance smells slightly different on every skin.
Don't test multiple perfumes, because after some tests, your nose gets confused.
In the world of fragrances, they call it nose blind. Your nose will not smell certain notes right.
The recommended number of sprays is 4: 2 inside your wrist and 2 on the other side of your wrist.
You can do 2 more inside your hand if you think you can still smell.
Coffee beans might reset your nose when you try them.
For the discovery boxes, don't test all in 1 day; go with one per day.
Update: These fragrances still have the same effect on me. After taking gummies, these scents augment the effects BIG TIME.
Decided to take a trip into Bristol and visit the Christmas market. It's rubbish so we went into Harvey Nicholls to try fragrances on. I'm now smelling very nicely of Prada.

I dag på arbejdet hjalp jeg en kvinde med en helt fantastisk parfume. Normalt, når jeg lægger mærke til en persons parfume, er det fordi den er gennemtrængende og invaderende. Men den her duftede bare så nice, og mængden, hun brugte var subtil, så man kun blev inviteret til at dufte den, hvis man sad tæt på hende.
Har aldrig tænkt over, at parfumer, kan have en 'range'.
Følte, det var lidt upassende, hvis jeg spurgte hvad det var for en. But I'll report back once I find out!!
