Hello everyone!
This Saturday we will be hosting a free store and hot drinks and taco stand starting at 2pm.
We are currently asking for items to be donated for helping the unsheltered live out on the streets here in Oshkosh, WI.
And as usual we are asking for basic care products to be donated as well as monetary donations.
In case you ever wondered what a free store running out of a house church looks like, here's some photos (featuring only volunteers, before visitors came).

Report Back - Free Store - 6/6/2025
We began setting up about an hour prior to the posted start time, 3pm. Tons of folks were already there, so most of the initial stuff ended up distributed then. For the next free store, it may be best to start setting up closer to the posted start time, or to only set out a few things at first and wait to bring in the rest so that folks who planned on being there at 3pm could get items.
We ended up sending folks to dollar tree and other places to pick up additional items and replenish stock. Some community members also donated items throughout the day, including toys and clothing.
Things became quieter after about 5:30pm, though we still had folks showing up until the 7pm close time.
Backpacks were the most popular item. Other useful items were shaving cream, handheld fans, and lip balm. We collected a list of items that folks wanted. Some items, like sweaters, weren't as popular in June, but can be stored for distribution later in the year. We went through a lot of water bottles, and "snack" foods also went quickly. "Staple" foods weren't as popular.
Plastic shopping bags were fantastic for folks who didn't have a place to store items from the shop.
