Musical Interlude: Roberta Flack left us today, and will be sorely missed. So many of her songs seem like cliches now, like "Killing Me Softly" or "Tonight I Celebrate My Love". Here's a rare track, never released on CD or streaming, taken from a 1971 Independence Day celebration in Ghana that also included the Ike & Tina Turner and the Staples Singers. It's a gorgeous a cappella performance, and still relevant in this turbulent times.
