🧡 2/6 Climate Knowledge Graph is an R&D project hosted at TIB @tibhannover – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and organised partnership with #semanticClimate. It's a 12 month development phase to start in May 2025. The Mission - should you choose to accept it :-) is to support the dissemination of the IPCC Reports. #frictionlessdata #frictionlesspublishing to borrow from @okfde | Image: OKFBrasil ok.org.br/noticia/participe-do …

To facilitate these releases (which include a few other deliverables in different formats) I created a #flask backend with a bunch of #click commands to handle ETL. This backend is based on a JSON file-based "registry" (github.com/healthyregions/oeps) I put together, heavily inspired by #frictionlessdata . An enjoyable, if more ambitious than initially planned, endeavor.

πŸ™πŸΎ Thanks to the kind support of @pjmfnd, the @okfn team spent the last 10 months working to unlock the #FrictionlessData standards and software implementations for users unfamiliar with coding.

The result is an app that has the potential to democratise working with open data.

Good points about Language barriers (both in technical and cultural sense) and resource limitations being things the community behind the #FrictionlessData project is well aware of @okfn #opendata #TheTechWeWant

Today I wanted to share some data and thought "wait, I'm sure that's exactly what @simon 's @datasette is for" (I knew it existed but it was unclear to me what it was). Then I started browsing the docs and the plugins and... my mind is officially blown 🀯

Has anybody started using this for #OpenData portals already? Digging further, it seems to have some overlap with @okfn 's #CKAN and #FrictionlessData.

πŸŽ™οΈ By adopting #FrictionlessData standards, people working with #opendata improve the interoperability and reproducibility of their research findings. Don't miss @sape_by and Evgeny Karev talking all about it in the @code4thought podcast!

A concrete example of how to annotate an #SQLite database using the #FrictionlessData data package standard.

@okfn it would be great if there were more concrete worked examples in the docs!

Implementing and caring for open standards is the core of our work at @okfn – e.g. #opendefinition, #frictionlessdata, #opendatacommons etc. Now, in a key moment for democracies worldwide, we are turning our attention to electoral processes 🧡
