Gufufoss gehört für mich zu den landschaftlich reizvollen Wasserfällen im Osten Islands. Das Wasser stürzt hier in einem schmalen Tal mit hohem Gefälle hinab und erzeugt dabei oft Wolken, die dem Wasserfall seinen Namen geben („gufa“ = Dampf).
