Full on toad festival happening on the farm tonight. When we have good water years, which this one has been, we have lots of springs that pop up. My back yard is particularly susceptible to pooling from the little springs. It sounds like a summer symphony out there even though we are barely into springtime. The last time we had this much water this early, by mid april there were hundreds - and I am not exaggerating here - hundreds of tiny little toads hopping about the lawn. Nearly impossible to walk without stepping on them. Hoping that this will be a good toad year as they are my favorites.
