Hello Fresh's "spicy honey-jerk chicken bowls" is the absolute worst recipe card I've ever seen. It's a clusterfuck of "how to set up someone for guaranteed failure and they're going to blame themselves, or worse, they're going to take this as evidence that cooking is hard".

Fast jedes zweite neue Mitglied ist heute unter 35. Die „Neuen“ bringen frische Perspektiven und neue Formen des Aktivismus mit – von Meme-Kampagnen, bis Reddit-Vernetzung und Boots-Protesten. Sie kamen aus Wut, Neugier oder Solidarität – und sind geblieben. Ich bin deutsch-französisch. Bei HelloFresh bin ich seit Januar 2021 – genauer: war. Ich habe einen Aufhebungsvertrag unterschrieben und habe zum November aufgehört. Mein Team arbeitete in Supply Chain Analytics: Wir haben faktisch Tech-Produkte gebaut, waren aber nicht als Tech-Team anerkannt – das bedeutete weniger Prestige, schlechtere Bezahlung, ein anderes Standing als “die Techs”.

Gewerkschaftsmitglied bin ich seit Juni 2022. Der Weg dahin lief über die Betriebsratsgründung. Ein konkreter Auslöser war ein Versuch unserer Kolleg*innen in den USA, in zwei Produktionsstandorten eine Gewerkschaft zu gründen. Wir haben über Presse, Reddit und andere Kanäle mitbekommen –, dass da Pflichtmeetings angesetzt wurden, wo ein “Experte” erklärte, warum Gewerkschaften schlecht seien, und dass es eine Website mit Mitglied-Beitragsrechner gab: “Gib dein Gehalt ein, wir zeigen dir, was du mit den Beiträgen stattdessen kaufen könntest – vielleicht ein Fernseher.” Es war sehr, sehr … sagen wir: unelegant.

Daraufhin fingen wir auf unserer internen Plattform an, Fragen zu der Situation zu stellen, bekamen aber nur so Corporate-Antworten – und die zum Teil erst nach Tagen, weil sie offensichtlich abgestimmt werden mussten. Das passte nicht zur Selbstbeschreibung “Startup, flache Hierarchien, hip, wir sind zehn Jahre alt, wir sind Tech”. Ab da sind wir von interner in private Kommunikation gewechselt und alles nahm seinen Lauf.

Sprache war ein echtes Thema. Intern lief bei der BR-Gründung alles auf Englisch – juristisch aber ist das anders: Websites, Formulare, Seminare sind meist auf deutsch. Für viele Internationale ist das ein Showstopper. Ich war die einzige Muttersprachlerin; nur eine weitere Person sprach fließend Deutsch. Langfristig führt natürlich kein Weg am Deutschlernen vorbei – aber: In der Anlaufphase sollte die Sprache nicht die Hürde sein, wenn du in einem neuen Land, im neuen Job und mit BR-Gründung jonglierst. Da hat ver.di in der Beratung noch ein paar Lücken, obwohl ver.di B&B – die Lernplattform schon nachgelegt hat und ein paar Sachen auf englisch anbietet.

Ich glaube, die Tech-Branche ist eine echte Chance für die Gewerkschaft. Lange dachte man: Internationale Teams, höhere Gehälter, Sprachbarrieren, schnelle Wechsel – “Lohnt sich das? Die gehen doch eh nach zwei Jahren.” Aber tatsächlich bleiben viele länger, werden älter, mit dem Einsatz von KI wird alles etwas unsicherer. Standards können erodieren, obwohl die Gehälter hoch ausfallen. Aufklärung muss da früher ansetzen – bevor alles zur Tesla-Kultur wird.
