For those of you unfamiliar with it, the term Jaywalking [1] has its roots in a campaign by automobile manufacturers in the 1920s to combat a perceived notion that cars were unsafe for use in peopled areas. Through an aggressive campaign around the operation of multi-ton metal death machines, shifting the blame for accidents from motorists to pedestrians, automobile companies were able to normalize the externalities of cars.
The resulting urban sprawl has plagued major cities for generations, with major European cities (e.g., Amsterdam) only managing to dig themselves out over the past few decades. Most American cities continue to optimize around residents shackled to car ownership.
However, all this is in the past. The work to dig us out of that hole continues, well over a century later. I would hope that we would learn something from the experience.
I would hope that we would reject any other corporate campaign to normalize a popularly disliked technology, perhaps with a very similar vibe of pollution and social disruption. I would hope that we would keep similar [adjective] [noun] constructs pejoratively focused on the purveyors of such slop.

Kinda what is predicted in some of the #LtG scenarios, but with the added *bonus* of pollution. (There was also #ClimateChange during the #LateBronzeAge, which was marked by droughts and crop failures).
Will we form smaller communities? Will we unite and use technology wisely before it's too late? Time will tell...

Hitler was then able to maneuver his military into an attack position without suspicion. There were however intellectuals that tried to tell Stalin that it was an attack, but Stalin was convinced of the 'conspiracy theory', and did nothing.
Hitler gave the order to kill anyone and everyone, and they swept across the Soviet Union, murdering an estimated 13 to 18 million civilians.

Two days later, after looking at far too many buses and trams, and drinking far too much (delicious but deadly) vodka with my very generous and friendly hosts on the last evening, I flew back to the UK on the 21st of March.
I changed flights in Frankfurt & finally caught sight of actual WMDs: At that time, Frankfurt airport was split between civilian and US military. There were masses of cargo aircraft, both US military and plain white painted cargo aircraft coming & going from the military side of the airfield, carrying weapons which would go on to be used in Iraq.
By now everyone was scared of "terrorists" so the airports were empty. There were just two passengers on my flight from Frankfurt to Gatwick.
There was no danger from Middle Eastern terrorists - the only danger was a ridiculously out of control superpower which with its allies would go on to kill over a million people in Iraq.
History is repeating itself. Instead of GW Bush, who was obviously an idiot, the US is now run by an even bigger idiot in Trump. Instead of Blair, who was complicit in war crimes, we have Starmer, who also backs war crimes. Instead of Iraq being accused of having WMDs in Iraq, that's now said about Iran.
