BiwaChan runs around chirping while all the other birds are settling in for the night. So we bring her inside under the table while we eat and watch the day end out the big EnGawa windows. She keeps chirping anxiously while inside too, jumps onto a chair and then onto the table. I put her on my lap as a reasonable precaution against salmonella with dinner. The birds seem to need body warmth too, like mammals. She ended up on my head yesterday while clearing away the dishes, but today the wrist worked out better. She'd probably be less anxious if we took care of water and living instead of oil and killing too.
