I sometimes wonder if my one person protest does anything at all to disrupt those who are anti immigration. *
I get honks and waves for those who agree but feared my actions were being disregarded by those who are (IMHO) needing to change their minds or at least have it brought to mind to question their position.
But this weekend a man got so mad at my sign he ran across the street and screamed at me. Calling me names, screaming how we can’t “let more of them in” etc. It showed me my sign is still doing what is needed. It’s pissing off the right people. Going to have a bit more purpose in my walk next weekend.
*for those who are unfamiliar, I march four miles to the center of Portland Oregon with a sign that simply says “Let The Children In. Asylum Is Legal”. I don’t yell, block traffic just follow a path that I have found to have the most traffic from my home to downtown. The , typically you can find me after the march standing in pioneer square from 12-1 pm on the weekend.
