The sun, live from my backyards. Seeing is much better in the morning. Last captures before I drive to the JASON solar event near Paris.

The sun, captured this morning, before the seeing degrades. Stack of 10 images captured using an SHG700 and processed using #JSolEx. Beautiful proms are visible around the disk.
In this blog post, I describe how I detected a potential Ellerman Bomb, and how I implemented an algorithm in #JSolEx to detect these: https://melix.github.io/blog/2025/05-19-jsolex-3-2-0.html
Image in CaH captured at lunch break from my backyards, between clouds and trees. Stack of 10 images selected from a set of 20 (most of them had clouds). Stacked and processed with #JSolEx 3.0.2. The clear disk version is off-band by 1 Å.
Super excited to present the new #JSolEx 3.0 release! https://melix.github.io/blog/2025/04-14-jsolex-3-0-0.html
A Calcium H image of the sun, shot with an SHG700, a 560mm refractor, stacked and processed using #JSolEx.
Shows one of the longest filaments I have ever seen!
Sun, Helium D3, captured today with my SHG 700, stacked and processed using #JSolEx
A story where I describe how I accidentally discovered that the SHG 700 specs were incorrect: https://melix.github.io/blog/2025/03-11-jsolex-shg700.html
Thanks to Minh Nguyen for his support!
In this blog post I explain how active region detection and labelling works in JSol'Ex. I hope you enjoy!

The sun looks so nice in H-beta ! Captured at noon today using Sol'Ex and processed with #JSolEx
The Sun in H-alpha, lunch break musings.
Captured with Christian Buil's Sol'Ex, processed with #JSolEx
Quick lunch imaging. Today weather is "correct". Still high clouds, so image could be better, but taken in a few minutes :)
Processed with #JSolEx 2.6.3
A timelapse of today's solar activity in H-alpha (the interval is not constant). That's 132GB of data processed with #JSolEx.
