Just finished watching #Rivals, adapted from the 1988 #JillyCooper novel, set in the fictional English county of "Rutshire", which tells you most of what you need to know about what to expect. #Romantic #fiction is not really my gig, but this adaptation is superlative television. It nails what it was like in #Britain in the #1980s. I was there. It was like that. Of course there are all the superficial things like the way people dress and the hairstyles and cars and phones and Mrs Thatcher. (1/2)
