I finished book 4 which was Agatha Christie's, "The Murder on the Links". This is one of the Hercule Poirot Mystery books. It's a murder mystery and H. Poirot is on the job. Will he solve the mystery? Perhaps. Ok let's be honest here, of course he's going to solve it. It was a good read.

I finished book 3 which was Septimus Brown's (@septimusbrown.com) , "When the Sky Breaks". I read this before as an ARC, but I bought a signed copy from the author and that is what I read. It is a young adult sci-fi, little fantasy, book with a pretty hefty plot twist. Great book.

I finished book 1 which was Steve Conley's, "The Middle Age: Volume 3: So Many Questions". This is the 3rd volume compilation of The Middle Age comic. Sir Quimp is a mediocre knight at best and his is controlled by his cursed magic blade Maledicta. Very entertaining comic.

I read book 42 which was Morgan Robertson's, "The Wreck of the Titan". This was a book written 14 years before the sinking of the Titanic and is often credited as predicting the loss of the titanic. In this book a largest ship in the world, the Titan, called unsinkable, which sailed with insufficient life rafts was lost after hitting an iceberg. Sound familiar? It was a good, quick read.

I read book 41 which was "Chicks 'n Chained Males", a mostly fantasy short story collection edited by Esther Friesner. This is the 3rd book in the Chicks in Chainmail series. These stories, mostly written by female authors focus on lady heroes who kick ass and look good doing so.

I finished book 40 which was Stephen Fisher's, "Sword Beach". This one of the first books I have read that was dedicated to one of the British beaches at Normandy during the D-Day invasion, and this case the book focuses on Sword Beach. I've seen books on Omaha and Utah (American) and Juno (Canadian), but not Sword or Gold (British). This was very well written and very informative.

I finished book 38 which was Esther Friesner's, "Here Be Demons". This was an amusing take on some under skilled demons and their rather unsuccessful attempts to corrupt an innocent soul.

It's been a while since I posted book 37, going off grid to get a heart transplant will do that to you!

In honor of Memorial day, I am on the patio reading Stephen Fisher's "Sword Beach" and James R. Benn's "From the Shadows". Both books come highly recommended. I'm also reading a Dungeon Crawling Carl book, but that does not fit the theme so well.

This is a picture of the 2 books mentioned in the post. They are on my patio sitting on the footrest from that set of patio furniture we bought many years ago. The chairs were crap so we sold them at a garage sale to a real nice couple of women who, may or may not have been a couple, and kept the table and footrests.

I finished book 32 which was the omnibus comic collection, “Star Wars Legends: The New Republic: Volume 8.” These stories take place after “Return of the Jedi” and center around the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy. Sometimes a common enemy indeed makes for some very strange alliances.
