Credit to @bbcearth Did you know kangaroos can only move forwards?
Their thick muscular tails and Z-shaped hind legs which cannot move independently from the other make it impossible for them to reverse. To move in a different direction they have to pivot their entire body to continue hopping.

#Joeys in Pam Turner’s home, sheltering from the Grampians bushfire in #Australia. As fires headed toward her property, the wildlife carer took 20 young kangaroos into her living room. The animals – standing alert due to the noise of the sprinklers – were all hand-reared by her after being orphaned through car accidents, fence hangings and shootings. They were too large to be evacuated, yet too young to fend for themselves.

This morning when I we went out for our walk, and I fed the front porch strays... there was what I thought was another cat peeking around the corner. Turned out it was a possum, but ran off once I noticed.
Then after my walk, I went into the backyard to feed Tripod our calico stray that lives there... and I saw this momma loaded up with joeys. She was pretty chill and I did not notice her until I was on my way back into the house.
