For some upcoming training, we've redesigned a client's junction for them to show the art of the possible - a Cycle Optimised Protected Signals (CYCLOPS) junction. There's a trade-off with the floating crossings, but this is a good way to manage the three modes.

An engineering plan of a signalised crossroads. There is a pale red orbital cycle track which passes around 4 pedestrian crossing islands on each corner of the junction which cross the cycle track with zebra crossings. The zebras are offset by about 45 degrees from the signalised crossings of the main road. The north-south arms have two traffic lanes approaching the junction (right and ahead/ left) and one on each of the east-west roads. The north-south cycle tracks have verge buffers and east-west has wide cycle lanes.
