So I recently listened to/watched an epic 9-hour retrospective about #KingOfFighters and one my biggest takeaways was that #gamedevs working on the series always seemed to really care. Past the 90s, those games were never major sellers and there was a lot of studio drama, but the devs kept swinging for the fences. And that's how you got stuff like the gorgeous sprite work of #KOF13 or launching the first 3D game with an insane 48-character roster.
