Despite not having played any of the previous games, I immediately recognized #KOF15 as having an all star roster and fell in love with it. The characters are all super cool in vastly different ways. Want an iron-man dad with ridiculous mutton shops? A psychotic cannibal sexy secretary? A weeb mob boss with magic kung fu? The classic leather jacket hero with fiery rush down? KOF15 has all that and more in its 61(!) character roster.

Couldn't get a single match. Was hoping the Japanese nerds would be on at this time but no such luck

With SamSho, the rollback is so blessed, whenever I do manage to get a match it's super fun times

#KOF15 has been a game I thought looked cool but was too hard to learn, there's four kinds of jumps, you have to play 3 characters, and the combo structure of canceling moves into other moves feels too fast for me.

But after seeing some of the matches at #ComboBreaker2024, I needed to try it again. "I love these characters, and even if I lose, I'll get to see my opponent doing something cool."

And apparently I wasn't the only scrub feeling that way cause I actually won a match!

I think #KingOfFighters15 might be one my favorite fighting games to watch. The progression of 3 characters gives a dynamic but easy to follow narrative as the initial characters fall and players need to adapt to the new matchup. Plus, the super meter increasing as you lose characters makes for great comeback potential, and matches usually end in a flashy and deadly climax.

(Maybe nerf Geese and Isla, though.)

It's crazy challenge to sell the physicality of petite girl doing a #sumo throw. But this #animation goes after it with gusto.

There's a dizzying array of fast light attacks sets the stage for the slow windup to feel even slower and build more anticipation. Then there's the exaggerated leg sweeping down and the foot slam to really sell her grounding herself. And then the beautiful held frame of her airborne after the throw.

I've been playing some #KOF15 to get my fighting game fix pre-#Tekken8 release, and here are a few things I really like about it.

I really like this looooooong Luong's low, for when you need to trip an opponent across state lines.

I'm very disappointed that you can't really just get online and play King of Fighters XV with random people. Solid game, but getting on a Discord to play with another person is so meh.
