So here's a bonus one: #garnet, muscovite and #sillimanite from the Scottish Southern Uplands, in the aureole of the Cairnsmore of Fleet pluton at #Knocknairling near New Galloway. Thermal metamorphism done right! 😊 Field of view 2mm wide.

Dark brown crystals of biotite, and large rounded crystals of garnet, plus pale-colourless crystals of quartz and muscovite, and brightly cooloured crystals of muscovite, both full of little hair-like crystals of sillimanite.
