After going to (and very much enjoying) the #LAAutoShow, I feel like a rough paraphrase of an old trope applies:

“Psychotics design modern luxury cars. Neurotics drive them.”

I went to the #LAAutoShow and was surprised a #CorvetteC8 was open to sit in with no one waiting. I got in and closed the door, got some video and got comfortable (and it’s very comfortable).

As I was about to get out, I saw no handles to open the door with — only various buttons I couldn’t identify, many of them low on the door so I couldn’t read them anyway. I asked someone outside to open the door for me, and they tried, but it was locked.

I started to wonder if I was trapped, when I noticed one button had a small lit LED. I pushed it and it went out, and the button next to it then lit its LED. I asked the guy outside to try again, and it opened.

Car manufacturers, handles work perfectly well. The Fiat 500e, even though it’s a #BEV so it should inherently have really stupid features like Teslas and Volvos and KIAs have, has buttons on the inside unfortunately, but it’s easy to find.

@Slashgear @autonomous-driving-Slashgear I also saw the Cybercab #EV today at #LAAutoShow and had the exact same (bad) impression. Is this a joke?

This is a concept of a possible new version of the Genesis GV60 #EV at the #LAAutoShow. It looked really cool, but I don't think I'd want to actually drive around in something so orange. I think I'll stick with my silver GV60.

The future is almost here - here is a NACS (Tesla) port on a Hyundai Ionic 5 #EV at the #LAAutoShow. This car was built in their new Georgia factory. They are not selling this quite yet but this is a production car.

I thought Kia’s modular #EV van was the coolest concept car at the #LAAutoShow. It got a lot of attention.

Tesla brought a RoboTaxi #EV to the #LAAutoShow. In person it seemed more like a plastic (or clay) model rather than a real car.

Went to the #LAAutoShow this past week and noticed that not a single car that was shown had its infotainment system on nor did they mention anything about them except that they support CarPlay.

But, the screens are getting bigger and the buttons are going away.

Honestly, can I just get a dock in the dash for my phone?

The challenge with being vertically challenged is there will be taller people in front of me at these launches @AutoMobilityLA@twitter.com #LAAutoShow and I miss a lot of what #Hyundai is saying last Thursday, but the payback is after folks clear out and we get closet to latest #EV
