@jeremy ufa[1][2], I'm looking at either add mastodon replies in my static blog or a fully federated blog with replies. Now that I implemented my own threading algo for #Mastodon conversations, I might do the first one in JS too and do the former.

Implemented a 4 line #optimization (2 if I count the 2 lines I removed) and went from 3m15s down to <15s to thread 40k toots. I thought of writing it initially, but left aside for the more straightforward approach. With a few hundred toots it was fine, once I read a lot of my toot history and reached 40k, not anymore. Also, this is the difference between O(N²) and O(N).

It still has room for improvement, but I will also reduce the initial read to just last 1k toots.

I added slurping your history (posts, boosts, mentions, bookmarks[broken] and local), and now I have almost 40k toots! More that all the mails I have since 11ya.

But then I have removed many mails: I read my mail with the delete key :) and I plan to add the same feature to #LittlePrince

About local, I got tired after reading 22520 toots, it seems to never end?

I takes 3m to build all those threads :)

Preview of #LittlePrince, a TUI #Mastodon client. God know why I chose that name:) Just toots, no boosts, and threads! Not quite like #mutt yet (see 2nd s.shot), but we're going steady. A shame I had to fight with #ORM's just to drop them and do all just with SQLite. More on that soon. #Rich will provide the TUI experience, unless someone suggests something else :)
