TAM and OMN tools for potential Bonfire workflows

This article looks at Techno Anarchist and Open Media Network tools that would boost efficiency and productivity in Bonfire workflows. And I will be paraphrasing heavily.

As mentioned in a previous TPF post, I plan to experiment with Bonfire and have taken notes for a series of articles.

This is the second one. The first is here if you inexplicably missed it. 😉

I have even reserved the […]

I'm building my own component library for #Phoenix #LiveView. It will be called "Voun", which means "humus" in Réunion Creole. It's a great opportunity to refactor the components of @brinjel, leveraging the modern features of #CSS.

For example, we can display a check or warning icon in input fields using only CSS pseudoelements `:user-valid` and `:user-invalid`.

Doing a bit of reading on the #Seaside approach to #Phoenix #LiveView. It looks like they have made a ton of progress using #WebSockets.

I need to make a little test app to see how this works.

Very cool.

I've uploaded a demo of the new version of Django LiveView:

https://django-liveview-demo.andros.dev/

I've also updated the Quick Start:

It's now super easy!

I even use it on my own personal website for any dynamic elements.

I hope it helps you with your future projects!

Hey @andros! Excited to see the update. I was only thinking of this project the other day. Let me check it out. 🤩

We'll have to get you on @djangochat in the new year so you can tell us all about it! 🎙️ #Django #Channels #LiveView

🚀 Django LiveView 2.0.0 is now available

I just released a major new version of Django LiveView, the framework that lets you build interactive, real-time web applications using only Python — no JavaScript required.

🎯 What is Django LiveView?

A radically simpler way to build dynamic interfaces with Django. Inspired by Phoenix LiveView and Laravel Livewire, it lets you create SPAs without APIs, without JavaScript frameworks, without splitting your logic between frontend and backend.

HTML over WebSockets — all interactivity works in real-time, logic lives in Python, and you use Django's template system.

🔧 Simplified configuration

pip install django-liveview

## 💪 What can you do with LiveView?

- ✅ Update the DOM in real-time without JavaScript
- ✅ Interactive forms with instant validation
- ✅ Infinite scroll and lazy loading
- ✅ Multi-user live notifications
- ✅ Real-time dashboards
- ✅ Search with instant results
- ✅ Everything with Python decorators and Django templates

If you're a Django developer and want to add real-time features without the complexity of a separate frontend, give LiveView a try.

@ehmatthes

One question I do have. We settled on #Phoenix / #Elixir for our projects at my day job. The big reason we went that direction was to allow use to use #LiveView rather than have bog juniors down with #React .

Is there such a think in the #Django world?

Thanks!
