I missed posting this on the actual anniversary, but… here, have a sunset photo from 20 years ago. (Taken Jan. 24, 2006) It's one of my favourite photos I've ever taken; I was in my last year of high school at the time, and in the middle of a driving lesson, when I asked to pull over to take it. My instructor asked me to send her a copy. :chickadee:

A photo of a sunset. The sky is deep blue at the top, and fades to a subtle yellow, then a violent gold right at the horizon, where the sun shines. Thin, whispy cirrus clouds are all that mar the sky. The horizon is silhouetted by trees. Taken with a Canon PowerShot A520.

"Exposed skin will freeze in 10 minutes or less" says the CTV weather forecaster from under her toque, right after disclosing that she has hand warmers inside her mittens.

Meanwhile, on the west coast, it'll be +12°C (or 54°F) today. I saw crocuses in full bloom yesterday and the garden is overrun with cute, little snowdrops.

Vancouver, Canada (Metro Update)
☁️ To our friends across the Lower Mainland—from Burnaby to Surrey—it’s a grey, damp day with temperatures holding steady at 4°C. Traffic might be slower than usual with the persistent mist and low visibility. No major storms, just that classic West Coast winter gloom. A great day for indoor chores or a visit to the library! 🌧️

There's a perfume store that opened up in New Westminster, and the selection is plentiful. There is truly no other stores like this here in the Lower Mainland.

Storefront of Aromatica Parfums with a dark gray sign and gold lettering above the entrance, decorative floral window displays, and a glass door showing the number 672, with city buildings reflected in the windows.A person's hand holds a black Lattafa brand perfume box and a "Holiday Jackpot" scratch card from Aromatica Parfums in front of a large, stylized gold and white painting of a perfume bottle.

The scratch card features a Christmas tree illustration, a barcode, and a QR code, with text celebrating "500k bottles sold." The perfume box is wrapped in clear plastic and has a circular gold emblem with Arabic script and "SEHR LATTAFA" written on it. The background painting includes floral details and elegant calligraphy.
