Happy open enrollment! #Massachusetts people shopping the #MAHealthConnector : whenever possible, use the generic name of your medication in the Plan Shopping Tool, assuming of course you can tolerate the generic.

I just tested a bunch of medications' coverage under the eight ConnectorCare plans that middle income people are now going to be on, and very consistently, when I searched on the brand name it came up not covered, and when I searched on the generic, there was at least a chance it was a covered medication.

Now this isn't a comprehensive test or anything, I tried like five meds. But it was pretty consistent that it would report plans didn't cover Lexapro, but would cover escitalopram, didn't cover Lipitor, but would cover altorvastatin, etc.

The #MAHealthConnector was continuing to send me paper bills and info via #SnailMail even though my account was set for #paperless, so I went into my account and toggled that setting off and on again.

The result: four separate mailings from that same day telling me that *from now on* I’ll be receiving all notices and bills via snail mail.

Got an insurance card and welcome letter yesterday from a new insurer for a new plan I did not choose. Called the state this AM & learned that the "new" plan I enrolled in (checks watch) 3 weeks ago is being replaced by this one. Nobody told me. I'm now on my 3rd plan with a 3rd insurer since January 1, and I'm so relieved to be going back on employer-subsidized insurance in a week. #maHealthConnector is great but #MassHealth is a complete #CX mess. (Why are they even separate?)

I cannot in good conscience plague you folks with the details of what happened next, other than to say IDIOTS IDIOTS IDIOTS and apparently I'm fine for now but will need to revisit all this in April.

Ended up getting xferred to a guy who gave me totally new info, couldn't/wouldn't guide me to anywhere online where I could view it, and hung up on me when I tried to explain the problem I was having getting in.

Hey #massachusetts folks who use the #MAHealthConnector! Anybody know what happens when you click the "yes I am temporarily disabled" button?

I am, in fact, temporarily (I hope) disabled, in ways which hit income, but if their "help" for the disabled is to pitch me off my unsubsidized commercial plan & bust me back to a ConnectorCare or MassHealth plan, oh HELL no: I would lose ALL my treaters.

So thought I'd ask in advance of talking to someone at the HC. Also the website was useless.
