"Fun" things I am learning about the #MassHealth Dental website (which doctors use to check patients' status and claims):
1/5 Things like reset password does not work unless you hit "OK" twice. It's quite consistently the second time

Right now, proprietary software has ruined several dental practices in Massachusetts.
Gotta love #MassHealth 's #javascript. They could do things like take out non-alphanumeric characters or add in leading zeros, but nah, lets put in a ton of code to give you an error!
I ❤️ Massachusetts.
Governor Healey just made prenatal vitamins and OTC birth control part of mass health & some other medical mass insurance program.
I rejoice when I see something helping women who want to have children and who don’t want to have children. This is really wonderful, but I’m kind of surprised that someone on mass health who is pregnant would have had to pay for prenatals anyway.
Seeking advice: Offline friend has been on MassHealth/Medicaid while unemployed and looking for work. Wondering if being on it builds up any kind of "accruing debt" that would need to be repaid at a later date? The application mentions possibly seizing assets or liens, with triggers at age 55 and 65 - looks scary.
Friend is hoping to be off it in a few months once they find work, and wants to avoid getting a surprise bill years later.
Request for advice or pointers to expert agencies/nonprofits:
Can anyone recommend sources of information or legal aid relating to signing up for MassHealth / Medicaid?
A person with zero income but some assets needs to renew their enrollment in the least-damaging way. Looking for organizations that provide expert help, or similar sources of up-to-date, MA-specific info on the long-term implications of how you fill out the forms.
After talking with 2 different *great* customer service reps (who, alas, could not help me) and then listening to the same excruciating menu of irrelevant options on a loop for 43 minutes while "or remain[ing] on the line to speak with a representative," I have confirmed that it is impossible to cancel #MassHealth or #MassHealthConnector coverage without providing precise details on the private insurance that's replacing it. WHY???
Got an insurance card and welcome letter yesterday from a new insurer for a new plan I did not choose. Called the state this AM & learned that the "new" plan I enrolled in (checks watch) 3 weeks ago is being replaced by this one. Nobody told me. I'm now on my 3rd plan with a 3rd insurer since January 1, and I'm so relieved to be going back on employer-subsidized insurance in a week. #maHealthConnector is great but #MassHealth is a complete #CX mess. (Why are they even separate?)
There is a new circle of Hell and it's reserved for innocent people whose income fluctuates around the threshold between eligibility for ConnectorCare plans and MassHealth plans. Why can't the state better integrate the plans (or at least streamline subscriber communication) offered between these two programs? It's so disruptive & stressful to have to change plans, insurers, doctors, etc due to tiny changes to income. #MassHealth #HealthConnector #ACA #Obamacare #Medicaid #HealthInsurance
