This week's issue of MacAdmins.news looks at the Apple's new Pro apps subscription, new security analyses, blueprints, restrictions, and Managed Apple accounts as well as lots of automations.
With ~12 minutes before the cert expired, my colleague finally renewed the cert.
This was an avoidable situation, had the rest of the team access to the APNS cert controls in our management platform, and had the colleague not deleted the Apple Account in ABM.
#MacAdmins do you leave all your controls to a single admin, or can any of your team take action?
I’m presenting at next week's University of Utah Mac Admins Meeting:
Platform Single Sign-on (Platform SSO) is Apple’s identity management offering for Macs. It promises:
• Integration with an identity provider at the login window
• A single sign-on experience with native and web apps
• Local user account password synchronization with the identity provider
Let’s explore what Platform SSO can do and what it takes to configure it using Jamf Pro.
Been asking for months to renew the APNs cert, as there's no tax other than time to renew early.
Colleague deleted the Apple Account used for the cert from ABM.
APNS cert expires in ~6 hours.
#MacAdmins how often do you renew your APNs cert and VPP token? I've always set a recurring task for 6 months.

The 90-day block ends for our users on Monday (I think?). So I’d better be prepared. 🫠 #MacAdmins
In this week's issue of MacAdmins.news we wonder about the 26.2 updates and what that means when you have a 90 day deferral set, learn how ChatGPT and Google are abused to deploy malware, learn about the Mac Admins Foundation mentorship program, macOS screen savers and a few nice automations!
Also, lots of the folks here are wearing fetching #ChristmasJumpers. I feel like I missed a memo…
