It's a gig, in the background there's a guy on stage with a guitar and a crowd looking at him.

In the foreground is a young woman, Geeta, wearing hip-hugging jeans, cut-off top showing a lot of skin, and hijab.

She's really pissed off; shouting and gesturing at the young man directly in front with his back to the camera. He's got his hand on the back of his neck as if he's feeling uncomfortable. (His name is Roach, he's her boyfriend but can be a real dickhead sometimes.)

Inspired by the first scene of the novel CAT PEOPLE - currently my work-in-progress.

I wanted to do something silly and whimsical, so I created this tiny fairy robot using #DazStudio

I learned things, mostly that sometimes an image doesn't work out as well as I might hope.

And that's okay.

A lake on a sunny day, with a waterfall tumbling down from wooded banks.

But most importantly, in the foreground is a little fairy robot, flying over the water trailing one foot through the surface. And it's carrying a red flower.

Under the water, with its mouth at the surface, is a goldfish.

The man doesn't realise what he's missing.

I'm bought some new assets for DazStudio - centaurs.

So this was a test to see what I could create. So many of these could be parts of stories, but that's cool I don't need to write them.

The only post-production is adjusting the contrast in GIMP.

A cloudy day. In the foreground, cantering through the water on the edge of a beach (or river bank) is a centauress (trust me, I've seen her from the front). Her horse colouration is piebald.

We're in a disused warehouse, with low sunlight cutting in through broken windows. There is mist and dust in the air.

Highlighted by the sun's rays is a humanoid female figure with huge fairy wings , hovering above the floor, blowing up dust.

She's wearing a futuristic black and white costume which leaves her left arm and right leg uncovered, as well as most of her midriff. She has a pair of black boots.

She's wearing some sort of hi-tech black wrap-around glasses, and she's looking at you.

Had a bit of a revelation today in regard to my 3D render art.

There are some artists who produce fantastic portrait work using DazStudio and I've talked to them about what processing they do to produce such amazing images.

But somehow I just can't do it. no matter how hard I try.

And yet I can produce some extremely good images, so the revelation was:

I may not good at what they do, but I'm good at what *I* do.

And that's totally fine.

First image

It's unclear whether it's day or night. This isn't Earth, there are twin moons in the sky though one is so big it might be a planet. Beyond it is a sun, small and brilliant white but not enough to truly light up this world. There is a wide flat plain with hills or mountains on the horizon.

A goblin woman stands at the entrance to a hut looking out across the plain, in the distance a large figure is walking towards her. The area is lit in red by a fire on top of a stand.

Second image

The goblin woman is walking now, away from the hut and towards the approaching figure which is silhouetted against the light and difficult to make out. But it's big and chunky.

Third image

The goblin woman is running at the approaching figure, both feet off the ground. We can now see the approaching figure is wearing some spikey shoulder pads and seems to have a large non-human head with a horn.

Fourth image

The goblin woman has thrown herself at him and has her arms around his neck and her face buried in his shoulder. One of her legs is thrown up behind with the foot pointed away. Looks like she's very pleased to see him.

The rhinoceros-man, because that's what he is, has his head up to keep his horn clear of her. He's twice her height and must be five or six times her mass. Both his hands are on her bum, one of them slid beneath her leather skirt.

Whatever their relationship is, it's probably more than platonic.

Spooky.

We're at floor level looking at a rustic-style room. On the floor slightly to the right, highlighted in a yellow light, is a backpack.

To the left is a chair pulled up close to a bed, though we can only see a small part of it.

Extending out from the bed and resting on the chair seat are two naked legs.

Work-in-progress - a scene from a book. (In case you're wondering, she's supposed to have rounded back/shoulders like that, she's suffers from kyphosis).

Things to be done include throwing it into Blender to make the nightie lie better; adding an eye-light; adjusting her pose a bit more; and adding to the garden props.
