#WritersCoffeeClub 1/2. Talk about something you’ve retold.

Thought about this a lot and came up with nothing really.

There is one story I finished but then lost (for reasons) which I could retell, but I probably won't. Though its loss annoys me.

I considered re-doing The War of the Worlds as a 3D-rendered comic where the MC is a lesbian accompanied by her "companion", but the more I thought about it the more it became the story of a completely different person with different events, so not strictly a re-telling.

(When you analyse WotW honestly, some of the story-telling is a bit poo.)

The planet Mars, floating red against a star-filled backdrop but near the equator a green flare has launched a thousand miles into space and if you look carefully you can see the incandescent glow of a cylinder. It is night and we are outside a house, on a patio area where a telescope has been set up. The sky is clear and is filled with stars.

A young woman in a white Edwardian dress, her hand on her hip, is looking into the telescope's eyepiece.

#3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI #art #wotw #WarOfTheWorldsA man holding up a cross facing a giant three-legged metal monster that is burning him to a crisp using its heat-ray.In the early dawn light we see a battle-ravaged landscape featuring a single wrecked building and skeletal trees stripped of twigs and outer branches.

A giant three-legged metal monster is firing its bright heat ray into the building and an explosion erupts at its heart sending plumes of smoke into the air.

To the right the insignificant figure of a woman flees the destruction, while on the left lies the dead body of a reverend propped up against sandbags.

My last render of 2025.

I've modelled Tinkerbell, though You can't see her face, and I thought making a pirate angry seemed a very Tink thing to do.

#3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI #nsfw #art #tinkerbell #disney

We're in a ship's cabin looking along a table with a lantern on the left illuminating a large mug. Tinkerbell (surrounded in blue pixie dust) is standing on the mug's handle, maybe she feels protected by it because...

There's a pirate, he looks very angry and is slamming his fist on the table - and knocking a stone bottle onto the floor in the process.

Black Cats - Wednesday and Enid

Just for funsies. I took existing models and applied appropriate morphs to make them look - a bit - like the intended characters. I didn't spend a huge amount of time on it.

The actual pose was suggested by the only decent cat suit available on Daz 3D.

#3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI #r34 #rule34 #wednesday #wednesdayAddams #enid #enidSinclair #blackCats

We're in a school gym with bland lighting.

Positioned near one a corner are two young women in revealing black cat suits, with tails, black cat ears, black studded chokers, and in heels.

Standing with her hands on her hips and looking off disinterestedly into the distance is Wednesday Addams.

Lying at her feet, leaning against her leg, is Enid Sinclair. One of her hands is lifted up and holding Wednesday's bare leg.

#eroticMusings Week 29 (December 14-20) Culture: Why are most relationship stories about beginnings? Does your erotica ever explore endings?

Part 2

[includes spoilers for Dragons of the Wounded Land]

Families being broken up, lovers dying (or worse), familial betrayal, but the only time I've really dealt with a simple break-up (so far) is in "Dragon of Earth" where the MC spends one night with someone and is smitten for a long time. But then they meet up again in the fourth book, "Dragon of Fire", when the MC is completely over the earlier relationship but the ex-partner thinks everything is the same. Awkward.

Two women in a wood. The sun filters in casting shadows on the misty ground. In the background is a gryphon dipping its talon into a stream.

The taller, paler skinned, woman is Daria who has short brown hair and a cut on her cheek. The other woman, Miralees, is shorter and darker skinned, her blonde and black hair is tied up.

Daria looks to be mid-kiss holding Miralees tight, but the smaller woman looks surprised and definitely not into it.

A scene inspired by "Dragon of Fire", Book 4 of the "Dragons of the Wounded Land" series. A 3D render created by me.

#eroticMusings Week 29 (December 14-20) Culture: Why are most relationship stories about beginnings? Does your erotica ever explore endings?

Because that's what people write.

After saying I don't plan things in my erotica last week ... the "Veronica's Life" stories take place in my Steampunk timeline and, not in the next book but the one after, there is an event that will drive the MC and her lover apart, probably permanently. This is because I need to pull the MC out of her cosy life and into something completely new.

Winifred Churchill mostly indulges in casual sex with lots of different partners so "parting" happens all the time for her but they all understand there is no commitment so nobody gets upset.

I do have partings, though.

Added 1400 words to CAT PEOPLE tonight, though some of those were words I'd already written getting re-integrated with the new version of the story.

But much more interesting.

It's night in a city, we can see high-rise buildings peeping over the edges of a river in a concrete conduit. Because we're in the river. looking towards a tunnel under a road.

Also here is a young woman, she's standing on a dry pile of stones with one hand against the concrete wall of the conduit. She's looking at her phone which is in her free hand.

#WritersCoffeeClub 11/17. What role does race play in your work?

My MCs are mostly non-white - including those in my second-world fantasy stories.

I make it a rule never to omit possible sources of tension, and prejudice is a great source (those who are prejudiced are always the antagonists - just to be clear - and they're always wrong).

These are the Edgbaston sisters. The red-head is Harriet (Harry) with her adoptive sister Khuwelsa (Sellie).

Neither looks like they'd take any shit from anyone.

Image inspired by the IRON PEGASUS stories, written by Steve Turnbull.A woman and a man having a conversation on a ship in the ocean. She has her hand on her hip in annoyance and her hand outstretched as if explaining something. The man who might be the captain has one hand across his stomach and the other to his face.

A scene inspired by the Dragons of the Wounded Land series Book 3: Dragon of Water. A 3D render created by me.A dark warehouse of some sort. There are two people lit by a red light that might be a fire.

On the right is a young woman, she seems to be only covering herself with a blanket.

Her bare back is exposed, and she doesn't look very happy. Her eyes are closed and her lips pursed as the second person examines small bat-like wings coming from her back.

The second person is a man probably over 50 with a huge bushy beard and long dirty hair, he wears a big heavy overcoat.

He has one hand on her bare shoulder and is touching one of the wings.A bedroom. Morning maybe? There's light from outside through a window but the inside lights are on. The double bed looks slept in but only on one side.

There's a young woman in a blue nightie, with dyed ginger hair, looking into a mirror thoughtfully. She's leaning on a dresser covered in make-up while holding a pencil pressed against her nose.

She's looking, in the mirror, at a second young woman with copper-red hair wearing a knitted top and black panties but apparently nothing else. She's leaning against a window frame looking down into a pink mug. Perhaps she's about to take a drink.

From the WIP: CAT PEOPLE

Never a truer word spoken in jest...

---

As she soaped her aching legs she considered the huge jump she’d managed and ten-metre drop.

She did not think her legs were particularly strong though perhaps the muscle groups were a bit more defined.

“Must be evolving into my final form. At least it’s not a crab.”

(Please note, the "crab final form" only applies to crabs, nor is it a final form, see this video by Lindsay Nikole: youtu.be/pv--L0FyIu4?si=lyinyI )

It's a bathroom with stone-effect tiled walls. A young woman (Geeta) is taking a shower. She has her leg up on the side of the bath and is washing her calf.

There's a fair amount of steam, she is back-lit and the sliding glass obscure her nakedness so, although she's naked, there's nothing lewd here.

#ScribesAndMakers 11/2. Egg?

Indubitably.

I threw this image together just for today but I think it would make a nice backdrop in online meetings.

#3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI

We're in some sort of well-lit, maybe SF, corridor but there's something weird.

A curious mist hugs the ground and purplish multi-faceted crystal growths spring from the ground.

And there's an egg. It's sitting on some sort of earthy mound on the smooth corridor floor. Although very egg-shaped, it is covered in overlapping scales and around it, on the mound, are more crystal growths but these are blue and smaller than the others.

Looks like Velma Dinkley's in trouble, where are the rest of the Scoobies?

It's the interior of a church, it's light outside with the light filtering through the damaged roof and windows.

In the foreground is someone who looks remarkably like Velma Dinkley, though we're only seeing her from the rear. She's not looking around, she's leaning over and checking her leg, maybe she strained it.

Unfortunately, leaping from the darkness, is a huge wolf-like creature which she has completely failed to notice.

Honestly I don't see how she's getting out of this.

#ScribesAndMakers 10/31. How did your creativity go this month? Alt: tentatively?

@gahlearner

Q: Why did you choose Daz 3D for your illustrations?

Because it was there.

I've been fascinated by 3D rendering since the early 80s, maybe because it was a way I could create pictures in my imagination - except I couldn't because it was too complex to achieve. (There's a lot more story there but we'll leave that.)

I'm not sure exactly when but I started seeing references to Daz3D and eventually checked it out maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It could do what I'd wanted all those years ago.

The rest is history.

And now I can do this:

#TTMD #ScribesAndMakers #3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI

It's a medievalish looking tavern with a long bar, lots of bottels and ornately decorated walls. Candles and other lights are lit although sunlight is streaming in from a low angle from the right. The air shows the rays of sunlight which highlight dust motes.

At the left, sitting on a stool, is a huge rhinocerous-like humanoid (he's got the long head and horn on his nose) wearing bits of plate armour and he's reaching up to assist someone step down off the bar onto a box.

This someone is a green-skinned goblin girl with pink and white hair, wearing a pretty white dress. As she steps off the bar onto the box she's holding one of the rhinocerous-man's finger and balancing with her other hand.

I was tired and felt the need to create something. What better than:

The Monster and the Fairy

Vaguely related to today's #WritersCoffeeClub I suppose 😎

#horror #3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI

A sunny day and the sun is high. We're by a small lake or river surrounded by trees and bushes. But this is all out of focus and blurry.

In the foreground, is a small blue woman. Her skin is blue, her hair is blue, her eyes are difficult to see because she's little but they are very dark. She has butterfly wings which are not blue - they're glowing orange close to her back fading to a darker violet shade. So she's probably a fairy, or some sort of fae.

But more interestingly she's sitting cross-legged in the hand of a Monster, and when I say "monster" we're talking "Adam" otherwise known as the Creation, or Frankenstein's Monster. Where she and the surroundings are all colour, he and his dead, sewn, flesh are grey. It's almost as if he's nothing but a lifeless statue.

She appears to be explaining something and he's paying close attention. He always was keen to learn.

#WritersCoffeeClub 10/15. How strictly do your characters follow their traditions?

Oh, now, this is a question. I'll only answer for Geeta, the MC, because she's complex enough.

Her family is Sikh - which is probably one of the most liberal of the older religions and equality between genders is basic. There are stronger restrictions on male clothing than female - a hijab is not a requirement.

But Geeta wears one anyway, African style, because she's making a point.

She follows the traditions she thinks are good ones, like helping at the langar which is an expression of the basic Sikh principle of charity where they have open kitchens and will feed anyone.

But she's also a modern teenager, and if she dared get a tattoo she absolutely would. She's also bi but hasn't really got that sorted out in her head yet.

"Eve"

I'm not especially into horror but I was thinking about what I might do for October and decided on this image inspired by the album "Eve" by The Alan Parson's Project. (You can look it up.)

#3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI #horror

A headshot of a dark-haired pale-skinned woman with the left of her face towards the camera and light, with the right mostly in shadow. She is wearing a small black hat and a black veil runs diagonally across her face. The background is dark but there is a dim red light shining on it.

She looks unhappy, perhaps even in pain. At first glance she looks traditionally pretty, but looking further into the shadows you can see the right side of her face and neck is covered in scars with her right eye quite distorted.

#WordWeavers 9/26. Does your character pay particular attention to any aspect of their appearance? Why?

Well, she's a teenager and likes to fit in.

Except she's also a rebel - she likes punk rock and wears an African-style hijab even though it's not a requirement of her religion. She's making a point.

So yes, the way she dresses is very important to her.

#writing #3dRender #noAI #madeWithDaz #3dArt #CGI

It's a gig, in the background there's a guy on stage with a guitar and a crowd looking at him.

In the foreground is a young woman, Geeta, wearing hip-hugging jeans, cut-off top showing a lot of skin, and hijab.

She's really pissed off; shouting and gesturing at the young man directly in front with his back to the camera. He's got his hand on the back of his neck as if he's feeling uncomfortable. (His name is Roach, he's her boyfriend but can be a real dickhead sometimes.)

Inspired by the first scene of the novel CAT PEOPLE - currently my work-in-progress.

#WordWeavers 9/24. Just for fun, share a 5 minute sketch of your MC. Stick people are fine.

Nah. I do 3D renders because I can't draw, and it'd be a lot of faff having to draw her badly then snap it (which as previously mentioned I don't do), then copy to my desktop (because I won't post an image from my phone) then sort out the file size because I'm not in the business of eating up unnecessary bandwidth.

When, instead, I could just post a render I threw together in half an hour. >shrugs<

A young woman, Geeta, stands on an industrial bin with her back to the wall on a corner. She's looking down at a robot dog with military grade weaponry that's currently looking away from her.

Is she going to attack? Or just hope it doesn't see her? Who knows.
