📸 Collapse in Hebes Chasma on Mars
Hebes Mensa, a 5-km high mesa on Mars, appears to have partially collapsed into Hebes Chasma. Melted ice may have dissolved salty layers underground, causing the surface to give way.

A high-resolution image of Hebes Chasma on Mars shows a deep, isolated depression with steep walls. At the center is Hebes Mensa, a tall mesa with a distinct horseshoe-shaped collapse on one side. Light and dark layers of Martian terrain surround the collapsed area, with some material visibly spread across the chasm floor. The terrain features ridges, cliffs, and a variety of colors indicating different rock and sediment types.
