The Met's Grounded has been getting mixed reviews, but I figured I should see for myself before the run is over.

For the first show of my mother's trip to NYC, we're at the Met's final performance of the season, Orfeo ed Euridice
And now for the evening's main event, John Adams' El Niño. Hopefully whatever the stagehands are fiddling with works when the show starts in 20 minutes.
This was FABULOUS! What a fantastic score, I looooved it and the accumulation of a great orchestra, conductor (Aslop) and cast (Bullock ❤️) makes it a night to remember (and it is getting rare at the Met…).

@dmacphee Same but from UK. We love #opera live in the cinema. And I'm quite glad the filmed version meant we didn't have to stare at those flashing lights for a whole act! Aigul Akhmetshina was stunning, beautiful rich voice and great acting. Angel Blue was also terrific. The men, on the other hand were a bit underwhelming, we thought.
