When I sang the praises of the first major action scene, that wasn’t intended to diminish the merits of the final major action scene… which is also off the charts.
Monkey Man has a lot of great and interesting things in it, but it also is structured around two major action scenes.
The first action sequence, roughly in the middle of the film, is totally wild. It keeps going and going, getting crazier as it goes along.
This is a good movie to watch a second time. Characters are introduced early on, but their relevance isn’t fully revealed till later.
You know what, I’m gonna watch ‘Monkey Man’ again.

Highly likely I’m watching Monkey Man again in the next week.
Best film I’ve seen since Hundreds Of Beavers.
Anyway I quite liked that.
I think it’s a film where you need to accept the 2 hour runtime and follow along, whether it’s doing martial arts or something else.

If you judge an action film by the quality of their restaurant kitchen brawls, then Monkey Man is absolutely worth checking out.
Shartlo Copley is also devouring the scenery in a minor role.
Kick arse training montage.
This is indeed a “martial arts revenge flick”, but also not like most others.
