There’s something you can’t capture through a screen — that feeling of being in the same room as live music.

🎷 Oh look, another "philosophical" ramble about Coltrane's "Tone Circle" by someone who can't resist capitalizing Every Other Word. 🤦‍♂️ But hey, at least there's a solid 50-50 chance you'll find a blue button somewhere in this mess! 💬

Who should take over behind the kit after Josh Freese with Foo Fighters? I just posted a video breaking down 5 realistic contenders — some obvious, some a little outside the box. Would love to hear what fellow fans think and keep this conversation going in the community. Who’s on your shortlist?

Not every rock song preaches "live for today." Tremonti’s “The End Will Show Us How” reminds us some journeys only make sense in hindsight.

Britpop is back—or is it? 🤔

Liam Gallagher & John Squire’s new collaboration is making waves, but what does this mean for modern rock? Is this a long-overdue revival or just another attempt at 90s nostalgia?

Let’s discuss: Does Britpop still have a place in today’s music scene?

What's your favorite song with a post-apocalyptic theme but has a beautiful melody?
:blobcatthink:
I have some in mind that I will post in this thread, but I'm sure that I don't know some good ones.

Is hip hop the only genre, where fans are too obsessed with classics. When people discuss who's rapper is better. Everybody talk about who have the most classics instead of who have more great music

@wmj1102 I grew up with records and cassettes. Singles were an event. An album on cassette might cost me a whole vacation's pocket money. CD's weren't around until I was grown up and I never had money for many. When I bought a CD I'd saved fora month for, there might be as many as half the tracks I didn't like. I'd hear a song I loved on the radio and be frustrated when it was cut off early because of the news or some other reason. In the digital age, being able to choose music, buy it, download and play it was like being in aladdin's cave for me and I've never quite lost the wonder of it. Sometimes I remember a snippet of lyric from a song I only heard once, wonder what it was, find it, get to hear all of it. I don't saturate myself in music, but I'll never stop being thankful it's available so easily. #Audio #MusicDiscussion

Saw a discussion about "greatest creative runs" in music. Stevie Wonder was mentioned, for his 1972-1976 run of albums. Prince was another top pick ,(82-89 or so). For my money, no one can touch Eno from '73-'80. Four classic art rock/pop records under his own name, the entire ambient series/inventing ambient, his three Bowie records, his three Talking Heads records, and another dozen (or two) collaborations, guest spots and production gigs during that span.
