As of episode 4, #MyStatusAsAnAssassinObviouslyExceedsTheHeros gives me flashbacks to #TheMisfitOfTheDemonKingAcademy and that’s not a good sign.
Rushing through the introduction and resolution of the conflict between Amelia and Kilika in just one episode is just the kind no of overpacing that I was so far glad to not see in this show. On the other hand this whole conflict felt absolutely irrelevant to the larger plot, so to some degree I’m also glad that they’re moving on from it already.
Nevertheless, I hope this is just a one-time slip-up for an arc that couldn’t be left out but wasn’t important enough to dedicate a lot of time to.

Oh look, another #isekai #anime in which an OP male protag gains an elf hottie and continues to get stron… KITTY! 😻

After episode 2 I’m still quite happy with #MyStatusAsAnAssassinObviouslyExceedsTheHeros.
The situation takes a darker turn but it’s not misery p*rn or grimdark for the heck of it. The main character is doing his own thing but he cares about other people and some of them care about him. He’s stronger than his peers but it is framed as something that seems off and maybe has a purpose.
The pace is certainly high but somehow still enough to follow everything well. I wouldn’t mind if they turned it down a bit, though.

New anime: #MyStatusAsAnAssassinObviouslyExceedsTheHeros is something I wouldn’t have checked out if I hadn’t been told it’s interesting. It really is, Akira is a competent protagonist but not aa over-competent or overpowered as I’ve sadly come to expect in Isekai shows.
Based on just the first episode I just have the feeling that it’s going to be another Solo Leveling and everyone from his class will die in that dungeon. I honestly don’t like the prospect of him becoming a loner and am wary of the word revenge in the official synopsis, so I hope I’m wrong and this will have a positive enough note for me to enjoy.
(Yeah I can just watch the next episodes already and I probably will tomorrow, please let me live through it)

My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's Episode 1 Impressions

I've read the light novels, so I've been looking forward to this series.

I got to say I was surprised by how visually striking this show is for an isekai adaptation. It looks really damn good from the characters to the backgrounds.

Episode 1 is a good setup for the MC and that something more is going on in the kingdom his class gets sent to. I look forward to seeing how this adaptation progresses. Definitely watching weekly.
