The European Commission signs a €500 million loan to secure Ukraine's energy security.

The Commission signed a guarantee agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to mobilise €500 million for Ukraine's energy sector.

The loan, which would be financed under the EU's Ukraine Investment Framework, would allow Ukraine's state-owned Naftogaz to finance emergency gas purchases.

The relation between and has got into some issues, as a coutr in Finland has ordered state assets in Finland to be confiscated and be handed over to in this first phase it's of a value of 40 million Euro, according to the international court Naftogaz is entitled to 5 billion euro as compensation for destroyed property. Russia has assets for 5 billion in Finland.
