Mammoth Hot Springs

This Golden-hued travertine terraces cascade with water, creating a stunning natural wonder. The formations are layered and appear to be alive with the flow of mineral-rich water.
This formation can be found in Yellowstone National Park just south of the Montana, Wyoming state line on highway 89.

Mammoth Hot Springs This is an image of a section of Mammoth Hot Springs located in Yellowstone National Park. This is a closeup of the Mammoth Hot Springs. It is a travertine formation that formed over thousands of years as the minerals in the water build these layered formations that the water falls through the hot springs and ends up flowing into the Spring River. The formations are like mini flat topped mesas but much smaller and randomly placed.
