From Hungary to the UK, defenders of democracy are being surveilled, arrested, or silenced. My friends have been imprisoned for up to 5 years for organising peaceful protest . But we’re not backing down.

I'm here with the European Civic Forum to launch a major report on civic freedoms and join a debate with policymakers, activists and MEPs on what real protection for civil society could look like — including early warning systems, new legal shields, and solidarity hubs.
